Sciatica? – Whats that all about?
Sciatica is a name for a set of symptoms. Nerves exit the spine in the low back and travel to everything below the belly button. They run the organs such as bowels and bladder as well as the muscles and legs. If the nerves which travel down the legs are affected it can cause pain, pins and needles or tingling anywhere from the spine to the feet. There are different types of pain depending on which bit is affected.
Mechanical back pain means that there are mechanical stresses causing the problem; this can be anything from flat feet to poor core stability. If the cause is mechanical it is likely that fixing the underlying issue will significantly help.
If the cause is an illness then it will obviously need a totally different approach.
